Reusable mop pads will save you so much money around the home. This reusable Swiffer pad knitting pattern is easy and fast to knit up.
I started my knitting journey by learning to knit dishcloths, something I still love doing. I have several patterns that are my favorites for dishcloths. You can see them here.
While knitting recently I had the idea to knit a reusable Swiffer pad so I could stop buying the expensive disposable mop pads.

Reusable Swiffer Pad Knitting Pattern:
CO- cast on
Cotton Yarn ( I’ve written a whole post about the best yarns for dishcloths here.)
Size 9 Knitting Needles
Lacing Needle or Tapestry Needle ( I use this one.)
Row 1- Knit Across
Repeat Row 1 Until your piece measures 8.5 Inches.
You’ll be sewing this wrong side out.
Lay your piece wrong side down and fold the two long sides to the middle.

You’ll want to overlap the middle just a little bit.
Start sewing the end using the tapestry or lacing needle. Sew all the way along the end.

Next measure 1.25 inches from the end of the overlap and sew the sides together.
Repeat the sewing process for the other side.
Turn your piece right side out and weave in or trim any loose ends.
All that’s left is to put it on your Swiffer or mop.
The great thing about using reusable Swiffer pads is that you can choose any cleaning product you want to clean your floor. You can choose to use dish-soap and water by simply running a sink full and wetting the pad, or you can use a cleaning spray like this one to spray the floor then mop up.
I love these cleaning sprays and use them everywhere in my house! You can use my referral code to get a free 5 piece gift set plus $10 off your first order here.
I hope you enjoy knitting these mop pads as much as I did.
